Supposedly that phenomenon has been happening a lot lately. Personally, I haven't been hit by that effect (yet), but there are some theories over at Webmaster World.
On an semi-related note, it seems that spam is rising to the top in Yahoo and (as always) MSN. It seems that in general, Google does a better job identifying spam, but they also throw out or penalize a lot of good sites in the process. They have so many filters that it is hard to specifically identify which one is affecting your site at any given time.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Many times these problems correct themselves over time, but it is an agonizing ride waiting for it to happen.

Don't want to be a broken record, but you are going to have troubles as long as you don't clean up your navigation/linking/duplicate content
http://www.google.com/search?q=site:recent...num=20&filter=0
First two listings should have you crapping bricks.

Actually, it's simple. www. recentpoker .com and recentpoker .com are two different domains to Big G and therefore duplicate content. You need to pick which domain you want to use, www or non-www and do a 301 redirect in your htaccess file redirecting one domain to the other.
There was a thread about this a couple of months ago or so, I believe GregK posted the code. I used it on my domain and it fixed all sorts of problems in google.

Ouch. Yeah, that is going to hurt. Nice find, PPP.
First, you can re-direct all your non-www pages to www pages by putting this in your .htaccess file (replacing example.com with your own site):
RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^www\.example\.com
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.example.com/$1 [R=301,L]
There are other versions of the above code as well.
Also, it's generally a good idea to make sure that people are linking to www.example.com and not to example.com (or vice versa, depending on which you are officially using).

27off,
The code that acapulco posted is to redirect the non-www to the www, if that's what you want to do. I think we were replying at the same time.

Not to hijack the thread but another Google problem. I just noticed today when I searched my website(without the www because of the previous posts). I only got a few results that were my pages and the rest were sites that had a random 4 digit number + random letter.com looked somewhat like 2354.osdfwh.com.
In Google it appeared as one of my pages would have, but when I went to the pages it was a poker search site attempting to get a few click throughs. Is this new? It seems odd that they would come up at all on Google of all places.
It seems as though there isn't much I can do, but I was just wondering if this is new and if other people have noticed it.

Yahoo! does not currently allow you to upload .htaccess files to your account.
any other way to do this
