Oh damn it all. I am so confused.

Party Poker's spokes person has officially stated that they do NOT offer rake backs (see casinoaffiliatesprogram forum).

But, our trackers once again allow us to see individual tracker earnings.

I've never offered rakebacks, but I'm not against them on principle or anything. If they are allowed, I will use them. If they are not allowed, I won't use them. But I would hate to think that other affiliates are getting the "wink wink" treatment on this while I stand stupidly on the sideline and let other affiliates steal my business.

Nobody is getting a "wink wink". Rakeback is not allowed, period. They do allow affiliates to give players stuff based on performance. It's a clear line.

Gifts based on performance? Interesting, what kind of gifts? Gift certificates?

Once the single tracker is activated again, how can Party know if their affiliates are merely giving gifts as opposed to giving rakebacks?

If anyone has received an official OK from Party for giving performance-based gifts, I would appreciate it if they could post the guidelines here.

Heres what i think...Party is going to leave the individual trackers visible. There are going to be affiliates who will try to abuse this nd offer rakeback, this will be easily tracked and Party will then close those accounts. Its a test, it will allow them to see who their HONEST affiliates are and get rid of the bad( those who dont want to follow the TOS)

As CAZ mentioned, leaving a door open for people to hang themselves makes sense. But more to the point, people will be able to cheat. Cheaters will always exist, and like always most or many will get caught and some will get away with it.

No matter how Party structures things, if John joins up as an affiliate, and signs up one player, Mary, and Mary joins as an affiliate, and signs up one player, John... they could rakeback 100% of their respective MGRs to each other. That would be against the rules, but obviously pretty darn easy to do if the two people keep their mouth shut.

Just because something that is against the rules happens to be humanly possible doesn't mean it is some backdoor "wink wink" thing, no matter how much a lot of the dishonest guys will try to rationalize it.

If you want to do something, send Party an email asking if it is okay to do the specific thing you want to do.

I dont see why we can not offer our players incentives Not Rake Back, but bonuses. Gifts, tickets to events, cash bonuses etc. Not every month but every so often, you know who plays under you and how they perform. You dont need a tracker to tell you how much rake they genereated. Even though these things are probably might be worthless to these players, I bet they will appreciate that you are takeing care of them. The thought counts not the gift. If anyone has ever contacted there manager on gifts and such things please feel free to let us know the response, thanks

"you know who plays under you and how they perform."

Before Party activated the individual tracker view, you would have no idea how each individual tracker is performing.

As for the "trap" theory, I don't really buy it. Why bother going through all this cloak and dagger crap? If Party wants to shut down rakebacks, they can just disable individual tracker view of the stats, pure and simple. There is no need for this "catch a dishonest affiliate" business.
