Default What do you say about Absolute Poker

Curious what is everyone saying about AP now when you write about the company. Obv most people would mention the security breach, so how are you explaining what measures the company has taken to make them "safe" again? Or are you leaving their problems out of your reviews?

I've only written one review surprisingly for Absolute Poker since the scandal broke. That was actually earlier tonight -- I made no mention of it, nor did I bring up the solutions AP has thought up of to remedy the issue. I think in the future I should bring it up briefly and then explain how Absolute's security team is taking measures to make sure something like this will never happen down the road.

I'm wondering since the problem is not something that happens every day, even on a smaller poker network, if I should be reassuring people in my reviews that this type of occurrence is almost an anomaly around most poker sites around the world, and give some kind of disclaimer saying that this "isolated incident" was taken care of immediately and isn't commonplace in the online poker industry.

This is a good post to bring up for people who not only write reviews about Absolute, but for people who choose to promote them and get their input on the whole thing too.

OK this thread is intended for those that are promoting AP. Understandably many have strong opinons about it and thats fine. Its a yes or no situation but please if you dont have something constructive to add about how to tell people what happened and how things have moved on from that point than please dont post. I dont normally say something like this so no offense but re hashing the crap isnt what this thread is for.

Here is my question I mention that it happened. I make sure to mention it was an employee not a hacker (which to me sounds better seeing as an employee can have access and hacker did not break the security system so to speak)

But what measures has AP taken to make sure that it will never happen again. Measures that can be explained to a person who is nervous about playing there that will ultimately reassure them?

I have in the past.

You want an opinion thats not being swayed by their purse strings?
Thats it!

I would also flee anywhere that tried to justify all the BS & never return.

Your rep not mine, have a nice day lol

wow can you ever get dramatic Greg lol.

TBH here I am not promoting AP (out of own personal prefrence of not liking the room to begin with), that being said when writing honest reviews you do need to let people know and many people still promote AP and have every right to do so without being insulted about it.

I have heard a bunch of things about "how AP is probably one of the safest rooms online" "They have increased their security etc" This tells me nothing and telling someone yes it was hacked but you know what it wont happen again because they have "increased security" just doesnt cut it

Its not trying to justify BS, there is nothing to justify. The room was hacked so be it. An explanation as to what they are doing about it now is needed. Not to make light of what happened or to "justify" it but to have a better understanding of what they are doing and further intentions to make sure that it does not happen again.

I intend to change my reviews, haven't yet, may never, but it's on the todo list. Aside from that, most of the drama can be found in our news pages.
