Default Some more interesting Absolute Poker info...

Someone just posted this comment on my blog ... I dont know who he is, or if this is true, but he does seem to know a bit about what's going on.

I can't seem to copy and paste it into this thread without it looking like crap and running together but its the last comment here....

Main points
-
Scott Tom is still involved with AP
- Scott sold AP to a company which is owned by him so he could stop paying shareholders
- Scott owes shareholders $250 million
- Scott doesn't answer emails/phone calls from shareholders

I think that the next phase of this story is about to drop..

Based on a new MSNBC article that I just read, Absolute Poker is going to spin this as a rogue "geek" employee who hacked the system "to show how it could be done and took it too far" and that "no management was involved."

I think that people are going to tear Absolute a new one if this is the angle that they take in their statement..

The same comment was posted at twoplustwo. If its true and who knows anymore, this guy is truly the scum of the earth.

Despite it being by far the most likely scenario from the beginning. AP/UB makes hundreds of thousands a day. The idea the owner would call with ten high (revealing his cheating) to make 30k and put his $200m+ business at risk is staggeringly improbable. It might be true though. Far more likely is that some employee making $80k a YEAR in a key position at a $500k a DAY business would want to get a bigger piece of the pie.

It could be either of these or another scenario, but objectively disgruntled employee would be 100 times more likely to do something like this in the rest of the world. Bill Gates doesn't slip into the shipping room to substitute duplicate software to save $30, normally.
