Default The 'Party Poker Free Bankroll Scheme'

How does this work?! Ive seen it for a while now, guys offering a free $50 without having to deposit or anything etc.

I emailed party themselves and the reply didnt give me an answer, there must be something behind it all?!

LoL... oh no, why whats the story behind it?!

I just didnt understand (still dont) know how it worked, there must of been something where they got their money back, i.e they dont let them cash out until they've made $50 or more in rake, thats the only thing i can really think of really.

Well from what i gather the affiliates were fronting the $$ to earn like $25 per person or something if they sign up as a RMP im guessing thats for CPA...

But that seems wayy to risky for me! i get the feeling this isn't a liked subject around here so il drop it lol

It's not a "not liked" subject, but just one that's seen some, well, differing opinions in the last few months.

Party hasn't discontinued the promotion, however, players whose accounts are initially funded via inter-account transfer are required to earn 200 party points to qualify for the CPA.

I used to run it, and did well with it, but that was back in the day when there was NO points requirement. They moved it to 5 points, and then to 15 points. At 15 points, I was only converting about 75% of our players (lots will just lose it at blackjack or one hand of poker and never redeposit). That was ok, because we earned hundreds of $200 CPA's, so it easily offset the players where it was $50 down the drain.

With a requirement of 200 points, I don't see how you could make it profitable.

It was a fun run while that promotion lasted, but it's pretty well dead at Party Poker now.

With that said, the following rooms offer a similar promo with selected affiliates:

Full Tilt
Absolute
Titan
UB

If you're not going to put a LOT of time and effort into fraud prevention, don't even bother with this type of promo. It attracts a LOT of fraud, and if you don't do a really, really good job of stopping it you'll be hard pressed to succeed in this type of promo.

NPG hooked me up with the old thread link that you guys all had a little while back, was quite the discussion i must add!

I just wanted to know all the theory behind it, This type of promotion isnt for me really! and it all seems a little risky with the whole fraud thing which from the old thread the affiliates themselves seemed like they could do NOTHING to prevent.

Geez, I can't imagine why Party wanted to shut this down. You'd think the other rooms you mentioned that still allow this would realize this form of player acquisition when accompanied by CPA's to affiliates is a garbage investment of their marketing dollars to say the least.

Hey now...I always said that Party was beyond stupid to pay $200 CPA's for these players. You won't hear any argument about that.

Just before they announced the new rate card (which took CPA's from $75 to $200) we were negotiating a hybrid deal with party. $75 CPA and 20% MGR. When they did announce the new rate card, I knew it was going to be the death of the promotion within months, which of course it was.

I actually tried to get Party to sign a contract keeping us at the $75 + 20% deal, but they wouldn't do it.

the people that did this well actually did a good job of keeping player values up. It took a lot of work but for most people it was worth it.
