Is this just for the domain? Or for the whole forum? If you are selling it as a forum, then u should have the site live.

If u keep it parked, you will lose all your backlinks and get de-indexed from google, which will make the forum and domain almost worthless.

While I agree that it is silly, lots of auctions run this way. so, Why not his?

Sorry, I've noticed a lot of auctions doing this, some even starting at $1 then having a reserve on it.
Basically i did this to encourage bidding.
