Google High PR Link Exchanges
I have link exchanges with a few high PR sites, for example pokerpages, absolute, and a couple more that do not show up when I search on google for links pointing to my site, and I know for a fact those pages have been spidered since then.
I know google is very iffy when it comes to links showing up, but does anyone have an idea why of all sites, these high PR and authoritive sites dont register as links to my site?

Google's link command is meant to be useless. Ignore it.

I would try looking up the same thing on MSN or Yahoo.

Thanks, I typically use msn or yahoo for looking up links which gives an accurate amount
I wonder why google does this other than to keep webmasters confused...
Does google find those links that show up with the link: command to have a certain significance?

High PR backlinks are becoming less and less useful. There is a rumor that Google is going to be tracking non-referral visits to your website now, and that it is going to rank websites based on actual click throughs rather than just "being there"
For example, a high traffic PR3 link will be more valuable than a PR8 link that gets no click throughs.
Has anybody else heard this?

I listened to the audio that someone linked here about that, i guess google will be changing alot come the new year, how much of this is true i have no idea. from the audio i listened to they are saying that pr will carry alot of weight and that you should appeal to your target market (customers) when writting pr's, the problem with that is the major pr service (prweb) doesnt allow press releases to be distributed if they sound like an advertisment, any thoughtas on this?

I've heard the same thing. I certainly hope this is accurate.
