just wondering if anyone has any views on party poker placing accounts on hold due to possible violation of affiliate aggrement? i tried to cash out my earnings and my account is on hold, im familiar with the agreement somewhat and dont think i did anything to violate their terms. I did sign up a sub affilaite and it was someone who signed up using my bonus code. thats about all i can think of. in any case if this was a violation what are the penalties, will they keep my earnings? are there warnings for this type of thing? just curious b/c i built a web site that has alot to do with party poker and really dont want to rebuild.

I am assuming you are on CPA and your players all signed up, deposited once and didn't give any action. Party will do freeze your account and hold your earnings until they start seeing a little more action from your players.

iv'e had that happen before, a few months ago i had players sign up at the end of the month and they needed to generate rake before i got paid, but this time i havent signed up any players since oct.21. i guess mayb some of them could be sitting on there money. i just hate to have them on my site if they are going to close my account and freeze my account. i have gotten a few sign ups this month and dont want them to be the central theme for my site and waste an entire month promoting something that will not pay off! im probably just over reacting!!!!

The main reason they freeze accounts is because of the CPA players. These players may not generate enough rake so party will hold your money till they can recoupe the loss. Its really their only recourse for bonus whores and straight up fraud for example...making fake accounts and cashing out the bonus leaving party with the bill. This would never happen with MGR they wll just give you a negative accrual. So any big players you might have could only help you because if you have big players why wouldnt you want them on a MGR? Why only make 65 bucks a pop. Anyway you make more money with MGR over the long haul as long as you work your ass off to recruit as many players as you can. The money will eventually snowball and you make a ton.

i also agree im going to be switching to all mgr. it is my opinion if this is the way the poker rooms operate they shouldnt even offer CPA plans. or dont show the accruals untill the rake has been generated for a paticular player, as affiliates for party poker have no way of knowing who will be a big player or not, they should also state this CATCH22 in their affiliate agreement. i understand they have to protect thier money but they have to understand where the affiliates are coming from also, when an affiliate looks in his account and thinks he has $1000 coming to him and then they mark him as suspicious it gets upsetting. in closing they need to come up with a better system or do away with the CPA plan!!!!

The system works fine. Your novice expectations were just out of whack. If you did nothing wrong, then all an investigation does is put a short hold on your money, which should just be a minor inconvenience. You should be thankful the company you do business with is careful in terms of possible fraud.
