Links Redirect

Hi.
Just want to be 100% on this, i have redirect like this /site/party.html
and in that page its like this:

<head>
<**** http-equiv="refresh" *********"0;url=MY_LINK">
</head>
<body>
</body>
</html>

Is this good? can it "hurt" my link?

I think someone mentioned that metarefreshes aren't good in Google's eyes. Mikebrad posted a great alternative method in this post:

I use it on my some of my sites and it works excellent, plus you can track clicks using Google Analytics.

I would think that it would be ok as long as google never saw the metarefresh but the link that themike537 posted offers a php version with less code and a more "friendly" 301 redirect.

If you are just getting this set up, use the php version.

Either way, MOST IMPORTANTLY, block the file / subdirectory or whatever in your robots.txt
