I was wondering about permissions to use other peoples articles and strategies on poker forums. As far as I am aware if you get permission from the author/source etc then you are good to go. Sometimes it is harder to locate or get in touch with such people and wanted to know if it was acceptable to post smaller articles if you named the author and source and/or link to the piece you might post. I suppose what I am looking for really is the general rule of thumb on these matters. Any responses are very much appreciated.
Of course with their permission it would be OK, without it it's content theft.
A general rule of thumb is no more than a quote or two from the article, with link back, and your own analysis on the matter. I see no problem doing this w/o permission as its common practice
Anything else and you are just stealing content. A good site will link to other content they think is good, not steal it.
