European Love

[apbaguley]

I built www.omahastars.com recently and am having trouble targeting my market which is Europe. Omaha is MUCH more popular there than in the States right now so those are my main target.

What do you guys think of my website and what can I do to reach my audience better?

Target keyword phrases that people in Europe are searching for that people in the USA aren't searching for. Think about what people in specific countries might be searching for and write content related to those keywords. e.g. What does someone in France search for when they're looking for an online poker room?

You also need to do some basic optimization on your site. The title tag for your homepage is "OmahaStars.com", which is a great domain. You might even rank for that in the SERP's. But I don't think anyone is searching for the phrase.

I have difficulties to find any real usefull information on your site.

For instance to have an advertising spot as you second point to the left would not be my kind of choice.

You need to think about what your visitors might be looking for. Out the omaha stuff on top and let the other stuff come second.

And if you are looking for european customers you should have a professional translation made if you do not speak the languages yourself. If you want french or german players you should have the page in thoose languages. People in these countries are less intrested in reading in english.

I'd say in Germany most people do not have any problems reading english, but if you want to target France, you definitely want french content

Germans know English well and I am sure that some people will go for the english pages. But my oppinion is that if you really want to pick up players from a specific country your site should be in that language. Of course like said above French is more important then german.
