2007 WSOP Schedule Question

I am looking at this years WSOP schedule and see there are 12 events that are titled as "World Championship" events.

I'm wondering what this means? What makes these events special to be World Championship events?

Are these the events that lead to the Tournament of Champions? Do they award differenct bracelets?

They are championships for that game.

Then how is there a championship event onthe first day of the series? I don't understand.

I may not be understanding what you aren't understanding, but that is the championship for that game, (mixed hold'em).

Yep, if there are say 20 No-Limit Hold'em events, only one is the chamionship event (the main event in this case)

If there are say 2 limit holdem events, one of these would be the championship event for 'limit holdem'.
