Default Money Making Idea?

Hi guys and girls, this is my first post.

I have an idea; what if we (members or select members) all collaborate on one poker site and share the earnings?

Here's what I am thinking:
  • We build a website and everyone adds to the content (useful content) to make a super poker site (many pages for indexing). We could poll for the content, things like a tips section, poker room reviews, strategy, forum, etc. W could even have a private forum for all the members to discuss ideas and such.
  • We list all the top converting poker rooms, complete with content rich reviews. Again, we could poll which sites to include. We would all have to be affiliates of the listed poker rooms for this to work. Maybe we could just focus on 2, 3 or 4 poker sites?
  • We all promote this web site with our skills. We don't even need to share our secrets, just do our best promotional efforts from all the involved members.
This is how we can share the revenue - the main goal is to get the site visitors to go to one of the poker room pages and open a real-money account. These pages would be static, but when the visitor clicks a link that reads something like, "Click here to get your free 100% match bonus from Full Tilt Poker", they would be taken to a page that includes one of the member's affiliate I'D.'s. This page, off a poker room page would be generated by a script that would always take a visitor to one of the member's affiliate link/page. The script would have to be fair, and each member's affiliate link page would have to be shown an equal amount of times. E.g. Take a Full Tilt Poker review page - the first visitor will go to Member1's page, second visiter would be taken to Member2's page and so on and then repeat process.

Ideally, it would be nice to have about 100 members or so for this project, and each member does a yearly contribution of $100.00 or less (via PayPal) to the project leader. 100 members X $100.00 = $10,000.00 (even more if we get more members). This money could be used to purchase a domain name and hosting package and use the rest of the money for pay promotional services, online and/or offline ones that actually work! I'm sure we have some members here that could recommend some good promotion places for the cause.

Firstly, we would need a trustworthy leader and good webmaster (maybe one person for both roles?) to take charge and create the site, including the script that would fairly direct visitor's to the member's pages. This person(s) would be exempt from the fees and could be offered two member spots in the program. This just means that the people doing most of the work get a little extra from their efforts.

I could see this as being huge. Think about it, 100+ poker affiliates with the same goal? 100+ poker affiliates using their promotional and creative skills to drive traffic to one site? Link Popularity alone would be big. I know that I would certainly use my SEO skills to promote this site.

This is just a brainstorm I had, nothing really thought-out. Would 100 Members be feasible? Maybe more? Maybe less? Could this work?

Any thoughts?

This will never work for a number of reasons.

1. Trust
2. Trust
3. Trust
4. Trust

I'm only half kidding about that part, most successful affiliates are pretty paranoid and would never do this. The admin hassle and trying to keep people from stepping on toes, stealing, etc. No way it could work with 100 people.

Go get a partner and work on a site, the return will be smaller but it has the best possibility of working.

If you need advice, find a good mentor and sub under them. You're much better off taking that path.

The rotation scripts are already available. I know plenty of people that use something similar for Adsense sites.

But like Georgia Poker stated, trust would be a BIG issue.
