I just thought of this today. Wikipedia could seriously take over for almost every search term out there. They don't run any ads so people link to them pretty liberally. Right now they are #4 for online poker.
Do you think someone like Wikipedia could dominate the online poker market if they wanted? What about every other market? Kinda scary that one place can carry so much weight...

In general you are right, but in specific with poker, the Wikipedia's high rankings are due to an enormous spam campaign from rogue bloggers who did their own spamming to "fight back" against spammers who polluted their blogs with links to their garbage.
Probably one of the single dumbest "campaigns" of this type, but it did succeed in dramatically improving wikipedia's ranking for poker and online poker (not that any spammers would notice one bit since they don't rank for those terms).
As long as Wik is just purely informational there is no reason to be "scared" per say. I think it would be worse to have another direct competitor in their serp spots instead...
