How do sites like this www.cahill-marquart.comx rank so high. Take out the x to see.

They have a page rank of 2 and no one is linking to them? Theyre ranked in top spots for poker bonus codes and other keywords.

Spam it is, all they do is figure out the loopholes in the search engine and exploit it to rank high. Once the hole is closed, they find a new one and exploit that. They always seem to be ahead of the curve.

Behind the curve actually. This will be gone by Tuesday or so. This network has pages removed faster than they are put up.

I wonder how much money is made being #1 for gambling related terms for a week or 2? Whatever it is, it must be worth it. If it wasn't they wouldn't still be doing it 5 years later.

if you type "poker" into yahoo you see what im talking about for #1, no PR or good content or nething

Google is moving faster than ever on this inept spam. That site has already been removed from the listings.

It has been replaced in the top ten by another site from that network. Let's see if that is gone by Wednesday or even earlier.

It depends on the affiliate program, but from what I have seen over the years, Empire Poker is the biggest supporter of spam sites. I have pointed this out to them several times, but have never received a response. It is one of the reasons for lower conversions at Empire - chances are that one of your visitors has previously clicked on a spammer affiliated with Empire (and in many cases, has been automatically redirected) so you will not get credit for sending your player to them.

I'm not sure about the other poker rooms, but I imagine that they don't care too much if it is SE spam. Some have official email spam policies, but SE spam is often a gray area.

Since I am often negative, I should post something positive too. Stephen at Paradise helped me out (I believe by sending an email along the lines of that it was not an acceptable practice for their affiliates) when a Paradise affiliate copied my content. It's not exactly the same thing, but I can see certain poker rooms setting higher standards for their affiliates than others. I applaud those that value their reputation over the quick buck.
