Alexa Rating and Free Web Sites

How does this Alexa rating work when it comes to free web hosts and free bulletin boards. For example, my blog has a very high Alexa rating. This is because it is part of blogger.com. I also noticed a poker strategy site that had a very high alexa rating due to being hosted on a free site. Is there an advantage to using blogs, bulletin boards, and free web pages. Can we leverage this high alexa rating to our advantage?

Alexa just uses the parent domain ranking so if you have something on a free host you don't get ranked yourself at all. Alexa is a joke anyway. Nobody takes the numbers seriously once you get above the top 100 or so.
