Hi guys,

I am thinking about doing a free $50 dollar promotion for players that havn't played at party yet for my poker forum (www.collegepokerfourms.com) I plan to give away $50 to people that make a minimum of 5 posts. I would be taking the CPA route. Which would mean I would be making $25 per player, plus Bonzaza. Would their be any risk in doing this, I know Party sometimes delays CPA paymeants due to the players not generating enough rake. Should I set something up with my affiliate manager at Party before hand, saying that I am going to be doing free 50's and that you agree to pay me no matter what. Let me know your thoughts on this, I think it is win win..I get people to the site, and I make a little extra money while doing it. Also I have 75 party poker shirts and hats, maybe I could tie those into the deal some how..

I would never give any money to a poker player unless I knew them personally and knew that they were a long time winning player. Even then I'd consider it just a gift and would never expect to get any money back from them.

Winning poker players don't need your $50. They tip cute waitresses $50.

If your plan was even remotely profitable ethomps, we'd all be doing it.

You've been on this forum for long enough to have been exposed to several winning poker affiliate strategies. They all take work and effort on your part.

Pick one, and just one, that appeals to you on a personal level and run with it to the best of your ability. You're suffering from information overload buddy.... this effects at least 90% of new affiliate marketers, I use to be their poster child.

Make that one idea profitable on it's own so it will keep generating income without any work on your part and then move onto your next promotion. Multiple income streams is the ticket to riches in any online business.

A few bucks from this website.... a few bucks from that promotion... it can all add up to mega bucks!

Anyone can build a small online poker affiliate empire and make big bucks if you work smart and target the neglected poker niches both online and off that have minimal competition. The possibilites are almost endless.

But you have to take it one step at a time. You have to.

Spread your efforts too thin..... and you'll get nowhere in this extremely competitive game.

I was under the assumption that you could not do the free $50 with CPA and only with MGR.

Can you please tell if you are using the CAP with the quick cash link?

Also, how does instantbankroll make money if it was not profitable?

If you're just starting out .... trying to emulate instantbankroll's business plan is a complete waste of your time and money.

You have to learn to walk before you can run.

There are many extremely successful poker sites on the net making huge dollars but that is because they have been around for years and have been able to build mega unique content and hundreds, if not thousands of backlinks.

The game of poker has been around for about hundred and fifty years and several poker websites have been around since the internet began, they have a ten plus years jump on the rest of us.

You might as well open up a general store across the street from a WalMart.

Sell what the big guy's like Walmart can't ...... individual customer service... poker forums are a very though way to acomplish this ethomps, try supplying info to the net with a unique niche like poker players who also love baseball, football or golf, poker chip tricks? use your imagination, be creative and build an email list from your site visitors.

It's better to be a big fish in a small pond then to be bait fish devoured by all the sharks in the well established internet ocean. You have to be realistic.

There's plenty of money to be made by shaving off small pieces of the huge poker pie one slice at a time.

pardon my stupidity, but I see the term "backlinks" mentioned several times. It seems coined as an important term. What is it exactly?

The free 50's can in fact be profitable when you are starting out, and it can be a way to build a player base. Maybe not the best player base, but a player base nonetheless and it can be done with little effort.

This is so because of the bonanzas. Alot of times you can recoup all the free $50's you gave away through your bonanza and any revenue you get is pure profit. Party wants to see a couple of things for this to be able to happen. First of all do not do this with CPA, do it with MGR. Secondly you should already have a few players playing under you generating revenue before you do this. Party does not want to pay out bonanzas when your players total revenue are less than the bonanza. You scratch their back with enough revenue, they will scratch yours with a bonanza payment.

This takes very little time to do, so by all means go for it. Just don't look for this to be your cure all marketing method, but it can help you get started. Get started on building a website and doing other promotions, there are plenty talked about here everyday. Once you get going you will not want or need to give out free $50's to reach a bonanza,
you will be hitting it by signups from your site and from other promotions.

On a side note, one of Jeremy's friends has been and continues to be successfull with the free $50 Party accounts. This is Bryan Micon over at www.neverwinpoker.com

As Jeremy has mentioned before, his site is also a great example of finding a niche and hitting it. Micon takes full advantage of the community feel that stars has, and has built a nice idea from it.
