Where should I register a domain?

My friend has a domain that I want him to transfer to me. I remember in a thread on here it said dont host and register your domain at the same place. Any suggestions? I plan on hosting with BlueHost most likely...

Godaddy is probably one of the cheapest... here are some coupons:

I have lots of domains registered at Godaddy and I've never had problems with them..

Just a small warning though: http://nodaddy.com/

I use godaddy and haven't had a problem. I really like how fast they are when you buy a domain name and then minutes later you can point to your own nameserver and have a site up.
