Talking Do you go for the $$$

I had to make this desicion, and i came to wonder if it was to weak, so id like your point of view.

I was contacted by a relativley new skin (theyre popping up all over the place), without alot of experience, and with nothing special to offer my players except 1 semi cool promotion. We got down to business, and i got an unusually good deal.

The cristmas planning is ahead, and i came to think about what to do for our players. Up came an idea, with this deal, that could pay for a really cool cristmas lunch/pokertourney for all our players IRL, but i wasnt sure the pokersite would ever see the money back in revenue (not even in my 10 year scale, and even tough they would be getting quiete a few highrollers signed up).

Now my mind is puzzled, cos i know marketing departments at big pokersites use huge amounts on standard branding expenses, in which they cant measure the results directly.

So i decided not to do something about it in this case, and probably will again. I guess im not made for selling newspaper ads ect.

Do you guys care about the long term profit for your partner pokersites or seize the opportunity for $$$ when it comes along??

Normally when a skin approaches you for a sweet CPA or a decent monthly advertising deal you should probably check them out first to make sure they're legit and will pay you. Normally, if you need the cash right then and there for other expenses, etc, its not a horrible route to take. But in the longterm, most sites (myself included) tend to stray away from any deals like the one you're explaining -- especially since you said you'd probably send them a decent amount of players/high rollers. Wouldn't be worth it in the long run ya know?

About the desicion:
Had no worries, regarding payment, they where legit.
Didnt need the money to other expenses (just saw a valuable opportunity, that could build a strong bond with our players = a lot of revenue at other sites with better offers)
"Wouldn't be worth it in the long run ya know?" Do you know the feeling you get sometimes with a pokersite, thats just like "omg, they have to change everything, in order to be a suitable match for our players, in the long term"?
