Carbon Poker - Something Fishy...

I have been working on updating banners, etc... for Carbon Poker and noticed something strange.

Carbon Poker's backend let's you choose which landing page you want to direct to and gives you a different code for each page you select as desired.

BUT...HERE IS THE FISHY PART...

No matter which code I choose, it REDIRECTS to the same landing page that tells players to use code FIRSTSUPER to get a special bonus and freeroll.

Now, what will a customer do?...If they see my bonus code then use my link and are then told to use a different code to get a "better" bonus and a bigger freeroll?

Now, I am sure that Carbon Poker/PDC will say, "You will still get credit for the player because of the tracking link..." But will I? That is the question that I have - seems strange and not totally reliable. I have seen a large drop in signups since the Carbon brand introduction and this is why I question this fishiness.

I can assure you that there is nothing fishy going on whatsoever, when a player clicks through your banner and sign up they are automatically tracked back to you.

At Carbon Poker our affiliates are responsible for driving our traffic and we work together with our affiliates to try and bring in as many RMP as possible. We would never try and jeopardize that by stealing traffic as that is unethical and bad business.

But why isn't there a landing page to match the bonus I promote?

Also, Ellen, you did not answer the question as to why we can NOT choose our landing page anymore?

Every single one redirects to the same one, the one encouraging the use of FIRSTSUPER. Yet, I am trying to convince my players to use my bonus code. Can't you see where this is confusing?

Hi,
You should be able to choose your landing page, I will get the tech boys to have a look at it as soon as they get in.
We have a few different bonus codes that players can use, one thing I have learnt is that different players are attracted to different types of bonuses and so if they player has clicked through your banner and uses either your code or a generic bonus code they are still tracked back to you.
I will keep you posted on the default landing page issue.

I do give PDC credit on a few things...

THEY ARE SPEEDY FAST WITH RESPONDING TO ALL ISSUES!

THEIR BACKEND IS PRETTY DARN GOOD...not perfect...BUT VERY GOOD!


Some things to improve...

More banners...there were soooo many to choose from at Poker.com!

What about installing a banner-customizer feature? Where you can add on your own graphic/code/website name to an existing banner...this would mean SOOO much for players trusting the banners and signing up!


Live stats for SUB-AFFILIATES earnings!


Shorter tracking links!


Sexier graphics...where is the spokesmodel Tina hiding? Not many different banners with her!


Lastly, what happened to that idea of being able to contact/remarket players?

Thanks for the feedback, we are actually working on some of those points and the others I have totally added them to the list, thank you! The more feedback we get the better .

Oh and remarking dead players, we will have an automatic system in the next few weeks maybe 2 months max, in the meantime please email your affiliate manager to discuss options!

Hi Ellen....if you could also add to your list updating affiliates as to promotions (ie newsletter) For example many of the promos to do with the WSOP I found out by having to check in the poker room. Possibly letting affiliates know even a few weeks ahead so they can plan better for it rather than find out a few days before or even the day of.
