1. Your affiliate payments are in the double digits
2. When you can count your monthly RMP's with one hand
3. When you check your stats 1000 times a day...every day..even X-mas
4. When getting 1 RMP is celebration worthy
5. When you do a search for your site just to make sure its still indexed..... on regular basis
6. When you try spamming an affiliate forum (LOL @ Josh)
7. When you try spamming at all

When stats are so bleak that after realizing your OCD nature regarding them you just give up looking.

When you still have to search for all the "free" stuff to build your site

2. When you have a tacky hit-counter on your home page
3. When your home page has more banners than your website has pages.
