Default How does a US citizen buy London Stock?

Anybody know how to do it via the internet? Also, I don't think this would be illegal since it is controlled by a securities exchange, which is legal.

any broker should be able to execute trades for you on a foreign exchange. You are welcome to buy whatever you want but as it is not registered with the SEC, you don't enjoy the protections that are provided for you under US law when you buy US registered securities.

What do these protections entail and what would I be losing? Do I pick up any extra protections from the LSE that the US SE doesn't provide?

I saw it listed for .82 cents US....is this what everyone else sees? I think that it would be a good buy especially when the "shock" of the new law dies down....

The US Securities laws are generally considered to be the strongest in the world. What this means for the investor is that companies are obligated to provide more information and disclosures in their filings. Additionally, there are more restrictions on the activitivies of insiders with respect to their personal stock sales.

I don't mean to suggest that UK security laws do not protect the investor, but compliance with US securitiies laws is generally a much greater burden on the company (which in theory is beneficial to the investor).

How about when they release figures showing they make $200,000 every single day, even after they stop taking American players. How much is a company worth that makes a profit of between 50 and 100 million dollars a year worth?

Hell, partygaming will still make 3/4 mill a day. Before they were doing $3.5 mill a day.
