At least it didn't take them two weeks to come out with this response. One of the most disturbing aspects of this whole thing to this point has been AP's lack of communication.

Interesting to hear that Scott Tom hasn't been involved with AP in an official capacity in the past year. Obviously doesn't clear the guy of any wrongdoing, but at least makes it look less like an "inside job".

So, now that AP has openly responded to the most recent accusations and have plans to open up their shop to an independent examination, it'll be interesting to see the public response. What other steps would you expect AP to be taking to rectify the situation?

This was an interesting excerpt of their response. Almost like they're leaving open the possibility that this is all just a big smear campaign against them. I gotta say, if it were true, that would be one hell of a well-orchestrated campaign.
