Default I am not sure why it should make any difference:

I wasn't aware they had reps in Canada but makes sense though it is not the only place. A friend of mine is working for them and is Antigua as a support manager.

If they are running a "bookmaking operation" on canadian soil, what difference does it make who the customers are, or where they are located?

So, if somebody is engaging in terrorism, doesn't matter if they do it in Canada as long as Canadians are not the target? You can kill foreign nationals?

I mean, don't get me wrong - the whole thing is a joke with what they are allowing the Mohawks to get away with at Kahnawake....the Canadian government already got their ass kicked in a previous standoff with the "natives," and they are very reluctant to try to enforce their own sovereignty over the reservations.

The other thing is discrimination: Bodog, along with many other sites, discriminates against people on the basis of ethnic origin, by refusing to give them the same bonuses as others. They still take their money, but won't give them bonuses.

That is a violation of the Canadian Human Rights Act....which is taking place on Canadian soil.

So, the question is whether the human rights being protected under the act only belong to Canadians?

Or only belong to people residing in Canada?

So, you can victimize people while you are on Canadian soil, as long as they are not Canadians and don't live there?

This whole issue of jurisdiction is an interesting one...with gray areas.

Canada, and several other progressive nations, have enacted laws that govern the behavior of Canadians in other countries.

Like Pedophiles...anybody Canadian having sex with kids in countries like Thailand or the Phillipines gets charged under Canadian law.

Apparently, the US Government does not have to follow its own laws on torture and civil rights when the victims are located in offshore locations.

I guess, as Dave's posts point out, it is all a question of whose palms are getting greased (i.e. Magna corp and the republican joy-riders).
