I don't think anyone clearly knows the answer to be quite frank. There is no law specifically saying that advertising an online poker room, offline, is illegal, but there have been some attempts in the past to say that it is "aiding and abetting", which COULD be considered illegal.
The U.S. govt has gone after many big advertisers in recent years including, Discovery Channel, Google, Yahoo, some magazines and told them that their offline advertising could be considered illegal.
An online forum is not a place to get legal advice and if you are concerned, I would highly suggest speaking with a lawyer in your state/country.
