Pokerroom.com announces the coming of Private Tournaments!

I just received an email from the affiliate department at Pokerroom.com regarding a new feature that they are going to be providing affiliates. As tournament pupoularity grows it would be nice to see many of the other poker sites follow suit and offer us the functionality to set these up on our own.

If you read through the archives you will find an article that I have written about using Private Tournaments to increase conversions. Utilizing Private Tournaments is a great way tp drive conversions. Anyhow Kudos to Pokerroom.com on their decision and implementation of this service to affiliates.

Want to play poker tournaments perfectly suited for you? Soon you can. By hosting them yourself!

Take on the role as Tournament Manager!

Soon friends, families, social gatherings, sports clubs and companies can meet up for a game of high-intense tournament poker. Protected by a password generated by the creator of the tournament, the tournament will only be accessible by players provided with the password.

Hosting a Private Tournament is free of charge and the tournament can be customized through a range of settings.

GAMES	Texas Hold'em, Omaha, Omaha Hi/Lo 7-Card Stud, 7-Card Stud Hi/Lo, 5 Card Draw

BUY-IN	$5+0.50 – $500+25
PLAYERS PER TABLE	2 – 10
BLIND LEVELS	3, 12 OR 15 minute levels
PRIZE STRUCTURES	“Winner takes all”, “Normal”, “Steep” and “Flat”
RE-BUYS	None, One or Unlimited
SIT & GO SPECIFIC FEATURES
MINIMUM ENTRANTS	Tournament Managers can start the tournament when this number of players have signed-up, despite the tournament not being full.
SCHEDULED SPECIFIC FEATURES
START DATE AND TIME	You can schedule a tournament up to 30 days in advance.
MINIMUM ENTRANTS	Without this many signed-up players the tournament will not start.
MAX ENTRANTS	You decide the roof of this thing!

The Private Tournaments will be easily located under the Private tab in the Poker Lobby and are always named after the creator’s PokerRoom.com nickname. Passwords can be passed around to other PokerRoom.com players using the Pokah Private Message feature. Or you could of course, just send an e-mail to friends and colleagues.

You can host a maximum of one Scheduled Tournament and one Sit & Go Tournament simultaneously.
