In the recent months the U.S. Government has made several steps and moved closer to their ultimate goal of enforcing an all out prohibition of online gambling. Although there is speculation if this will indeed ever come to fruition, it threatens not only professional poker players but also poker affiliates. In fact it probably threatens poker affiliates more so than players. Many of us rely on our poker affiliate income to provide for our families where as the majority of players are casual players with indispensable income. Promoting online poker is not a gamble, it's guaranteed money each month and it's how many of us make our living. In the event this bill passes, the effects will surely ripple down to the affiliates.

It is this reason that www.PokerAffiliateWorld.com is officially announcing it's support for the Poker Players Alliance. Everyone has different opinions on what will happen with this bill, but the bottom line is that this threat is very real. We cannot sit back and allow the U.S. Senate to be persuaded to follow suit of the House of Representatives and vote in favor of this bill (H.R. 4411).

The PPA (Poker Players Alliance) is a non for profit group that is working diligently on our behalf to protect the rights of not only poker players, but also affiliates. They are a very intelligent group that is lobbying for the U.S. to legalize and regulate online gaming versus prohibition. As poker affiliates we collectively have a reach to poker players that surpasses even the largest online poker rooms. Together we should be giving exposure to this fine organization by displaying banners on our websites or by doing a simple mailing to our databases. Keep in mind there is not a single affiliate link on the PPA site anywhere. The $20 you and your players donate helps to send the group to Washington and lobby for our rights.
