The worlds third largest poker site (pokerroom.com) owned by Ongame has announced that it is currently undergoing takeover discusions with Austrian rival BetandWin. If this indeed does come to fruition, there will be some hefty competition for the current leader, PartyGaming Inc.

Although details are still sketchy and most of the information at this point is just rumours, Swedish based Ongame has confirmed that it is in takeover talks.

This would certainly be a big move in the year of consolidiation for the online poker market. Preliminary reports are suggesting the deal could be worth over $200 million euros.

Again all this information is still preliminary but it will be interesting nonetheless to monitor what transpires between Ongame, PokerRoom.com, and BetandWin.
