www.PokerAffiliateWorld.com - 2005 PAW Awards
Congratulations to each and every member of Poker Affiliate World. 2005 was a prosperous year for many affiliates. Before announcing the winners, Randy and I wanted to take a quick minute to thank each and every member for growing PAW into the best resource for poker affiliates in the world. Regardless of who won an award we would like to take a moment and give special mentions to our top 10 most active posters of 2005:
PPP, richardb, Adioking, hoursurfer, Gregk, corpfan1, Paradise, the27offsuit, texignweb, & drawdead
 PokerAffiliateWorld Member of the Year
This award is being shared by two members. Dave & PPP Both members have been around since the inception of the community. Each of these members are extremely successful affiliates in their own rights and have made posts that are not only honest and accurate, but have helped fellow affiliates develop their own businesses. Both Dave & PPP have earned respect in the community because of their vast knowledge of the poker affiliate industry, SEO, and their ethics in business. Congratulations gentlemen, and on behalf of the entire community Randy and I would like to thank you both for your valuable contributions.
Most Improved Affiliate of the Year
This award goes out to our veteran member Drawdead (Holis). I began working with Drawdead even before the days of PartyRiches. Within the last twelve months Drawdead has went from having absolutely nothing to do with the poker affiliate industry to running a very successful poker affiliate business. In his portfolio, Drawdead maintains several general poker websites and a poker forum that boasts over 1800 members at Freerollerz.com Some of you around the general gambling community will also know Drawdead as Holis on other forums. He is a great example of someone that has worked hard, put in the hours, and built himself a great poker affiliate business within a single year. Congratulations Drawdead(Holis) !
Check out his newest sites Las Vegas Webcams and his Funny Poker Videos website.
Most Likely to become a Super Affiliate in 2006
This is a difficult award to give out as no one quite knows what the future in this industry holds. Also keep in mind there are many people at PAW that don't publicize their sites. The ballots are in however and we have come to a three way tie. PokerBoy for his Tournament Monitor Feed and willingness to help others, Coxquinn - for his newest site capitalizing on offering a Party Poker Rakeback Alternative, and last but not least GregK because of his vast knowledge in programming and coding......oh and the fact that he is working on a joint venture with Jeremy :)

Poker Affiliate News Story of the Year
The biggest news story of the year in the online poker affiliate world without a doubt goes to PartyGaming for a few reasons; going public on the London Stock Exchange, ending its relationship with skins, and most importantly ending rakeback. Our highest traffic day at PAW in 2005 was when Party made the bold announcement to end the practice of rakeback. If you'd like to reminisce you can go back and read through one of the most visited threads in PAW history. Party Rakeback Thread. This thread actually developed into a great discussion between both players and affiliates.
Poker Affiliate Disappointment of the Year
It goes without saying for both poker affiliates and poker players that one of the biggest disappointments of the year was seeing an up and coming poker site with a great concept disapear in the course of a few short weeks. The poker site was PokerShare.com
The details on the entire situation are still sketchy but nonetheless the closing of it's doors invoked quite a discussion in both the affiliate community as well as the players community. Here was the official Pokershare thread
 The Coveted Pink Donkey Award
The first annual 2005 Pink Donkey awarded is being rewarded to none other than our old friend and moderater Ex-Croupier. This gentleman managed to strike business deals with several PAW members worth thousands of dollars. After being silent for months and not following through on any deals............ he claimed to be playing in all the WSOP events as a Danish Poker SuperStar and even comparing himself to Gus Hansen. Needless to say he was no where to be found on any roster at the WSOP when I arrived. Hmmmmm....... Either way I believe most members got their $$ back and Ex-Croupier went back to the Danish Poker Circuit never to be heard from again.
