In early April, 2010 French Parliament passed a vote to legalize and regulate the online poker industry in France. This new legislation means that on the 1st of June, 2010 the Poker/Online Gaming industry will experience a significant shake up. The bill means that the French Government will place a 2% tax on online poker and 7.5% on Sports Betting in an effort to ensure players are treated fairly as only licensed operators will be allowed to offer their products in France. This effectively means French players will only be allowed to play against French players. Unfortunately, the PAW Network is not immune to industry changes and in the coming week we will expect to receive more information from PAW Operators as to where they stand on operating in France. We have already been informed that the following rooms on Poker Affiliate World will no longer be accepting French players and any affiliates currently promoting to French traffic are advised to cease immediately • 21Nova Casino • 888Casino • 888Sport • Amber Coast Casino • Betfair • Cake Poker • Dafa Poker • EuroGrand Casino • Hollywood Poker • Joyland Casino • Ladbrokes Poker • Paddy Power Poker • Prestige Casino • Skykings Casino • Sportsbook • Sun Poker • RedKings Poker • Riva Poker • William Hill • Winner Poker However, these rooms have informed us that they will be accepting French players or are seeking a license to allow for French players.
• 888Poker - Creating new network for French traffic • Absolute Poker - Still Accepting French Players • BWin - Awaiting New Trackers • Casino.com - Still Accepting French Players • Full Tilt Poker - French traffic redirect to .fr site • GR88.com - Still Accepting French Players • Luvin Poker - Still Accepting French Players • Mansion Poker - Still Accepting French Players • Noble Poker - Awaiting License • Party - Awaiting New Trackers • PKR Poker - Awaiting New Trackers • Poker770 - Launching a new brand • Rummy Royal - Still Accepting French Players • Sportsbook - Still Accepting French Players • Titan Poker - Awaiting New Trackers • UB.com - Still Accepting French Players
PAW would like to assure all affiliates that once we have the information on where our operators stand, this will be communicated to them hopefully with an alternate offer such as rev-share. In the mean-time affiliates who wish to promote to French players should do so with caution as we cannot guarantee commissions will be paid by rooms no longer accepting French traffic. If you have any questions about these changes please feel free to contact our helpdesk affiliates@pokeraffiliateworld.com and make sure you keep logging into PAW to be notified of changes.
