Marketing Codes

Hi All!

We now have the ability for players to enter a “Marketing Code” when signing up. This means that players will be tracked to you through entering this code. Your Marketing Code is the same as your tracker id. For Example, if your tracker id is yourdomain.com, then yourdomain.com is also the Marketing Code that your players will need to enter to be linked to you as an affiliate.

When players are creating an account, there will be an option “How did you hear about PokerStars?” There is a box here to enter the Marketing Code. At this time we will not be issuing any new Marketing Codes so you will need to use your existing tracking code(s) as your Marketing Code(s).

When will you be allowing us to select a marketing code?

Also, when will there be a separate backend from player accounts?

Lastly, is MGR on the horizon?

Furthermore, what happens if someone clicks our link, then...

Searches Google for a marketing code to enter and enters that code?

Who gets credit?

Hi,

For the moment, we arent offering further marketing codes, except for the tracking ids you already have, unless you have multiple domains, and then we can set more up (as the domain).

We are currently in the beta testing phase of our new affiliate front end! I will update you on the progress.

MGR will be offered to select affiliates when the new program comes out.

Marketing Codes will always override cookies.

I think this will really hurt affiliates with PokerStars Banners/Links up. I think 50% of banners become virtually useless.

Whats sucks is some people like me started out with a piece of crap first site , which was on a free host so its blank.blank.com which is too long and complicated for people to remember .

Carly , you said someone with mutiple domains can get more trackers , can you set this up for me , and what info do i have to send you

How do PAW members using PAW trackers find out there marketing code?

If you PM me the domains you have, then I can set these up as Marketing Codes/additional trackers.

If you are with PAW, then please contact PAW to find out your Marketing Code (which is the same as the tracker they have given you).

So if my stars tracker with PAW reads http://www.pokerstars.com/?source=pawsub403 then pawsub403 is my marketing code? Are these case sensitive?
