HI all.

I have been preparing for my offline promotion for a couple of weeks now. I will say what i am doing and see if anyone wants to try it, or has done it already and had any success.

1) I have receieved 3000 flyers from party poker, i bought a rubber stamp to put my bonus code on, there was no way that i was going to write my bonus code 3000 times !! The way i am going to market these is, i got in contact with my local newspaper and asked them if i can put flyers with their paper. They said that they could but they would have to check the content, i sent one off to them and they agreed that it was fine to do. The code i am using for this is my home towns name, as i feel that it will mean something to them and that its where the local newspaper delivers too. It's going to cost me £16 a thousand, ( i live in the Uk) that's about 30 dollars, which i think is good value, hopefully i will get a few sign ups this way.

2) Business cards (from party) i am putting these in poker books in shops and generally scattering them in bars and toilets.

3) CD's this has been my biggest promotion and the most effort i have put in. Before i begin if you are going to do cd's from party please be aware that it takes a lot of effort and time if you want them to look proffesional. I have not sent any cd's out yet, apart from i gave a few girls some at work whos dads play apparently. OK, so i bought 500 printable cdr's from a shop in England and got to work. I bought an epson colour cd printer from amazon for £60.00 and a few ink cartridges, i started to do the cds and print the faces with the one that party provided, but i got talking with Slowdive off these boards and his girlfriend designs cd faces, i asked him to get me one and it is awesome. My code is scattered all over the cd face, and it looks great i thouroughly reccomend him and his services. My ideas for cd's are to get a bulk mailing account and to send them to PO Boxes in student towns, do a few door to door in student towns. As i have said, i have done 500 of these cds, they look great but it is hard work, i hope that i get some response from these.

4) I have also ordered some poker chips from Slowdrive with my code on them too, im gonna be putting boxes in a few shops with a form to fill out details, like a raffle to win prizes etc. These chips as a prize, also hand these chips out to people in bars, as people will keep a chip more than a flyer i think.

Here are some of my ideas that i have prepared, i reckon i will go ahead with the offline promotion in a week or so, i have put a lot of time and effort into this and i am proud of my work. I hope i get some sign ups then it will of all been worth it.

Please folks, we are all here to help each other out, give me feedback on what you think and how I could promote these ideas better or different ideas altogether.

Best Regards

James (Fatty)

Fatty,

Your offline promotion is very similar to what I am setting up. I haven't ventured into the CD area yet, and instead of getting a bulk mailer account for college PO Boxes, I am going to just display a banner outside of my house on campus with the name of the school as the bonus code.

One question for you and everyone else.... Party is sending me 1,000 fliers and cards. Which sign up offer do you think yields the greatest return? $25, 20%, or PPM? Which are you going with, Fatty?

well for cds i have gone with Free PMM, as i said before i havent posted any out yet, only too friends. BUt i have been told that, tourney one is good. As for flyers if you get the green ones from party they are tri fold, and when they 1st open up you have what you want at the top. The $100 free looks great in a flyer, it has a WOW factor i think. when people open it up !!!!!!!! I have 4000 ready to go out with my local newspaper, (i have just dropped a load every where) the risk is because they are within the newspaper people might miss them, but if i get 0.3% conversion i will be happy.

I have used differnt codes for each promotion to see what does best

Putting in the time & effort like that, you should do well.

Thats sounds like a steal on the newspaper distribution fee too.

good luck with it!

James, great ideas. I especially like your idea with your local newspaper. I'm going to have to try that here in San Diego and see what sort of deal they could give me.

Guys, how do you get the materials from Party is such large quantities? They've sent me 50 of each, but I'd like to have a lot more.

Thanks,
-Josh

Odds are in san diego they won't let you promote poker in the newspaper.
He lives in the UK so that is legal there.
