Will Neteller Be Banned or Shut Down In The U.S.With the changing legislation in the online poker scene, many online poker players and poker affiliates are beginning to question if Neteller will be banned or if Neteller will cease U.S. operations. With all the legislation that has gone on in the past few months and with the passing of the UIGEA many of us poker affiliates as well as online poker players are left wondering could this happen? If Neteller were to pull out of the U.S. market and no longer accept U.S. players this would be a significant blow to the entire online gaming industry.
Although it would be a major blow to our industry, I also remember way back when a small company named paypal declared it would no longer fund online gaming companies. People thought it was all over then. Without a doubt if Neteller does stop funding we will see a slow down. But with that we will also see new payment methods or processors enter the market.
Regardless the rumors are circulating that Neteller may be pulling the plug on its U.S. business in 2007. Below is an article that was written by one of our members that I found to be a great read.
The talk has now turned amongst online poker players in the United States from what sites are accepting US players to how much longer they have to play? Compatiblepoker is still following all developments regarding the banking issues.
(PRWeb) December 16, 2006 -- The poker sites still attracting the US crowd listed at www.compatiblepoker.com/usa.php has brewed up talk amongst poker players. The new question is when will deposit methods be shut down to poker players?
According to various poker forum posters at twoplustwo which was also reported at the US page at compatiblepoker, there is speculation that not much will happen regarding the banks within the next month. Poker players are getting somewhat of a Christmas present.
Going by when the Bill was signed, US online poker players have up to 209 days left of the 270 assigned before regulations are set forth upon the banks and 3rd party deposit providers.
Many poker players are underestimating the impact which will occur around 209 days from now. Banks and places like Neteller will be forced to stop taking gambling transactions. Right now poker players in the US can still play because some poker sites are taking US players and the banking regulations have yet to be set in stone.
Players are urged to keep themselves informed on new changes so that they don't get caught unaware of what's happening.
Compatiblepoker will continue to keep their ongoing US online poker news page updated at www.compatiblepoker.com/usa.php The page has valuable information about what sites are still accepting US players and what deposit providers are up to. |
