Why Ron Paul is the best candidate for President.

Congressman Ron Paul has gained massive political exposure by being the only republican presidential candidate to advocate bringing our troops in the Middle East home and ending our war in Iraq. His non-interventionist policies also suggest we should bring most all of our troops around the world home to strengthen our national defense. Congressman Paul also favors limited government, lower or abolished income taxes, and strict adherence to the Constitution. Paul speaks from the heart about every political issue he is asked, rather that regurgitating party rhetoric. Let me introduce, congressman Ron Paul.
Congressman Paul represents the fourteenth district in Texas since 1997 and has an incredible voting record. He is a Vietnam War veteran who served as a flight surgeon. He also is a licensed obstetrician and has delivered over 4000 babies. Although a war veteran, Paul voted against the war in Iraq. He understands our foreign policy is part of the reason why the U.S. is not respected in that region. He wants to radically change foreign policy tendencies from nation building and policing the world, to opening up communications and free trade markets in order to stimulate economic growth. Paul warns Americans about the fiscal irresponsibility and huge debt this war has gotten us into and wants to stop the proverbial “bleeding” before it is too late. Too late being when the value of the dollar is crushed by excessive oversees debt and high inflation.
Congressman Paul voted against the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act. Not only did he vote against it, but also spoke to Congress on July 11, 2006 urging them not to pass any legislation that regulates the Internet. He is quoted on the Congressional record saying,” In addition to being unconstitutional, H.R. 4411 is likely to prove ineffective at ending Internet gambling. Instead, this bill will ensure that gambling is controlled by organized crime. History from failed experiments of prohibition to today’s futile ‘war on drugs’, shows that the government cannot eliminate demand for something like Internet gambling simply by passing a law.” He was one of only seventeen Republicans who opposed the bill.
Lastly, and most importantly, Congressman Paul is a politician who speaks the truth. K Street lobbyists do not own him or his votes. As I mentioned earlier, he opposes any bill that increases government spending, violates the constitution, or raises taxes. For this, he has received the moniker ‘Dr. No’ from his peers. During his years as a medical practitioner, he never accepted Medicare or Medicaid payments for his services. Instead he worked for free or set up custom payment plans. In 1988, Senator John McCain, speaking about Paul to Kent Snyder, Paul’s campaign chair said, “You’re working for the most honest man in Congress”. To that, I agree senator.
